Jan 11, 2023Do you feel like you take things for granted?
Do you worry about your future?
Do you feel stressed?
Do you feel fearful?
Would you like to be grateful no matter what?
Be Grateful… on Purpose is level 8 of the “Creating Your Life on Purpose” process.
What makes you happy? When you are finished with this level, we would like your answer to be simply “Being Happy”. That’s it.
Question: What makes you happy?
Answer: Being Happy!
Not there yet? Well let’s continue.
You cannot be grateful and fearful at the same time. They are different vibrations. Just like you can’t be on AM and FM at the same time. As you get into a state a gratitude, the Universe begins to bring all the people, things, etc. into your life that resonate with that vibration. When you get happy, anything that doesn’t resonate with happiness cannot come near you. And if something that is not happy comes then you are not as happy as you think you are.
Here is a quote by Oprah Winfrey –
“Be thankful for what you have, you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”
When you are in a state of gratitude the Universe will bring you more to be grateful for.
Gratitude is a magnet for good stuff. So just be grateful no matter what!
Here is one of my favorite Gratitude stories from my own life. I love animals and after I lost my two boxer dogs, (Duchess and Joe), my heart was broken. The love you get from a dog can’t be matched. Talk about living in gratitude and love. A dog loves unconditionally and when you are blessed enough to receive this gift be grateful for it. I was doing consulting work and didn’t have the lifestyle that is good for a dog. I have never been what you call a cat person for some reason. I told my dog to come back as a cat so I could have that companionship but have the freedom to be away from home for hours at a time. Cats take care of themselves. I asked the Universe to bring me a dog in a cat’s body.
One day while I was at my brother Mike’s house, we were standing on his front porch and suddenly, a cat appeared out of nowhere. She could not have been more than 6 weeks old. She was so tiny and adorable. Mike had his door cracked open and she just walked right in. He tried to find her and couldn’t. So, he went to sleep and when he woke up, she was sitting on his chest, purring and just staring at him. He didn’t want a cat, but she really didn’t care what he wanted. She showed up and took over. At this point, our mom got involved and brought over some litter and food. Mike knew that was it. He had to take care of her. My mom named her Bella. He lived right down the street from me and I would go over there after dinner and watch movies with him during that time. While I was there, he would put Bella on me and just said to just let her do her thing.
At first, it made me a little nervous (crazy, I know) and after about a week I started feeling comfortable. The time came for me to watch her while he went to California for a week. After having her for two days I fell in love and I called Mike to tell him he wasn’t getting her back because I was now her momma. He said, “that was the plan all along.” Little did I know the Universe was preparing me for one of the greatest gifts that I have ever received. It turns out that Bella is just like my female boxer, Duchess. Duchess always had the attitude of a cat but was also very loving. Bella acts like a dog. She sits on my desk while I work, she curls up with me in bed, she comes running when I come home, and she makes me feel loved. I am so grateful for her. Thank you, Universe, for always bringing me what I desire in ways I can not even imagine. Thank you, Mike, for the part you played in getting me to fall in love with Bella. Bella had a plan all along and wasn’t taking no for an answer.
Steps you can take to get into and stay in gratitude:
- Before you get out of bed say 30 things you are grateful for. Say the words “I am Grateful” before each thing. This will set your day up in the right vibration so more things to be grateful for will come to you.
- Spend 10 minutes at some point in your day and look around and just be grateful for everything you see. This will exercise your gratitude muscles so they can grow. We call this the GRATITUDE GAME.
- Have a physical token that brings your awareness back to being grateful when you touch or hold it in your hand. I have made my logo into a necklace and it represents gratitude. It sits right above my heart when I wear it.
- Be grateful for the air you breathe. Most of us take that for granted.
Bottom line: When you are in a state of gratitude for that which you already have and give thanks in advance for that which you are about to receive, it will show up.
Now let’s recap:
